Why do we give art school scholarships? You might be expecting an especially poignant answer here. Maybe something about how we rented "Mr. Holland's Opus" one night, and how it inspired us to reinvigorate the arts and music programs that seem to be disappearing across the country.

That's not true, though. We're as bummed as anyone about the dwindling opportunities for students to learn art and music, but we're not crusaders. We just like art. And during one of our brainstorm sessions on the creation of new scholarships, art came up, and we liked the idea. Still do. Hence, this scholarship program.

We also know that a majority of scholarships out there are offered only to students attending four-year colleges, and a lot of art schools aren't four-year programs. Plus, we really like Claire on Six Feet Under. That reason enough for you?
