I was a Junior Advertising Art Director in Toronto and I thought I had found my livelihood until one night when I met with one of the most famous ad men in the industry."

| "New York is such a wonderful place to live, and I feel blessed everyday for the opprotunity to study here. Moving from Florida was a challenge, but I plan on doing great things within the next few years, and going to FIT is the perfect stepping stone. The art world is quite competitive, but I am confident I have a secure place in it."

winner of the Art School Scholarship is Alison Stinley.
Alison is a student at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
"My first piece is sealed tightly in a family photo album. It is

"All throughout school I have been doodling on my class work.
I can't help it -- I have a drive for drawing that cannot be stopped.
So to fill this drive I have to keep finding new ways to carry it
out, by taking every art class I can possibly find and by applying
for every contest and program to build my abilities as an artist.
Also taking programs such as C.S.S.S.A (California Summer School for
the Arts), where I majored in digital media and sculpture, as well
as taking figure drawing and design classes. Right now I am in my
senior year of high school taking AP studio art, as well as a figure
drawing class at a local community college."

Barrett has a passion for the arts.
"My father was an artist who was forced by his parent's expectations
to choose another more "proper" profession. When I was 10,
he was giving me private art lessons but had to stop because he fell
ill and died from leukemia-related pneumonia. It was rather dramatic
for me to see him lose his balance and fall over while trying to give
me lessons... and then to die."
