While Google AdWords and Overture are both very popular PPC advertising services, they are markedly different in several ways. Each has its fans and critics. If you're just getting acquainted with the services, we've put together a list of differing characteristics of the two services for your convenience.
If you're ready to sign up for Overture on your own, click here to sign up now . Here's the skinny on Overture:
THE GOOD
-
Overture's traffic-estimating tool is excellent.
-
Overture provides the advertiser with nearly absolute control over the position of his/her ads.
-
Overture provides tools that automate your keyword bidding.
-
If you want high positioning for any particular word, you can get it almost instantly (provided you're willing to pay the price).
THE BAD
-
All ads require approval from a human editor. Sometimes that takes 3-5 days, and sometimes the approval choices are questionable.
-
Overture requires a $20 minimum monthly spend.
-
You must pay first, then begin receiving clicks.
-
Targeting ads to foreign countries is difficult: you must sign up for a separate Overture account in every country in which you'd like to run ads.
-
You cannot set a daily spending cap.
